This series of Salamander murals was placed on two different university campus, one in Statesboro, GA and on in Savannah, GA. Salamanders are fascinating creatures known for their amphibious nature and diverse habitats. These slender-bodied amphibians can be found in various environments, from damp forests to freshwater streams. Their distinctive long tails and smooth, moist skin make them well-adapted for life on land and in water. Salamanders play essential roles in their ecosystems, serving as indicators of environmental health. Their porous skin is susceptible to changes in temperature and moisture, making them an indicator species for climate change. Some species, like the axolotl, have the remarkable ability to regenerate lost limbs. These remarkable creatures have captivated the interest of scientists and nature enthusiasts alike for centuries.
